Visit Lowlands Outdoor Exhibition of Play Sculpture Grand Opening
The Unstructured exhibit is back and better than ever with brand new sculptures, forts and installations to make you feel like a kid again! There are six new installations to discover in the Lowlands Project space, and you can enjoy it all during the grand opening celebration September 29, 2023. The space will be open until Halloween, and is a pay what you can exhibit.

Queen Elizabeth Planetarium Grand Reopening - Free Tours!
Visit the immaculately refurbished planetarium the weekend. Visitors can take a free tour of this restored Municipal Heritage Resource. While you’re there, you can check out historical photos and artifacts in the lobby, visit the planetarium dome for a view of the night sky, see how the planetarium was built, get a complimentary QEP sticker (while supplies last), and celebrate the return of an icon.

Watch an 80s Version of Cinderella on Stage at The Roxy
Alberta Musical Theatre presents a brand-new musical adaptation of “Cinderella,” inspired by 80s music and pop culture.

Fall-o-Ween at Prairie Gardens
The season kicks off with the Fall-o-Ween Harvest Fest - a month long September weekends celebration of the great pumpkin patch.  Prairie Gardens is the furthest north blue pumpkin farm in the world!  With over 15 acres of pumpkins planted - of all shape, colour and size imaginable, and wide open spaces - this is a fun and safe family activity!  Hayrides, corn mazes, scarecrow making, potato digging and cabbage patch visits are all part of the fun.  Back at the Prairie Gardens homestead, there are farm animals, bale mazes, a sunflower maze, the Lost Lemon Gem  Mine, and a Pumpkin Corn-i-val with pumpkin bowling, pumpkin ring toss, bale jumps and more!

Free Workshop: Code Your First App
Code and create as a family with Swift Playgrounds using iPad. Kids will experiment with code and design an app using the About Me playground. They’ll use Swift code to customize their app with fun fonts, background colours, Memoji and more. Then you’ll work together to bring their app to life. Recommended for kids ages 10 and up. Devices will be provided.

Create a theme song for your favourite show, book or game using GarageBand on iPad. We’ll cover rhythm basics and kids will get hands-on with experimenting with Smart Drums, adding pre-recorded loops and remixing their theme song. Bring your iPad or we’ll provide one. Recommended for ages 8–12.

It’s Raptor Release Day!
