We’re well into the summer now and crossing all of the fun things to do in Edmonton in the summer with kids off of our bucket lists. From summer camps to beach days, exploring new trails and trying every single scoop of ice cream, we’re hoping that you’re enjoying your hot summer days.

Enjoy the last Weekend of K-Days
If you haven’t enjoyed the rides, fair food and fun at K-Days yet, you’ve got one more weekend to find fun at the midway. Get your passes in advance to save a few dollars on ride all day (advance passes will usually include gate admission, as well), and spend a full day of fair and fun. Don’t forget to bring your water bottle, there are plenty of refill stations on site to keep everyone in the family hydrated.

Glow in the Dark Midnight Swim at Devon Community Pool
Head back to the 80s at the Devon Community Pool with their Glow in the Dark Midnight Swim. Come dressed in your best 80s gear and enjoy a late night swim with glow sticks, snacks, games and prizes!

Catch a Free Show at the Greenshack
Every week there’s a free show at the Greenshack! Enjoy a local performance from an arts group! This week, enjoy the show featuring West African Dance with Masani St. Rose (presented by Mile Zero Dance) with three shows, at three different locations, at three different times of day.

FREE Coding Lab for Kids: Make Your Own App
Code and create as a family with Swift Playgrounds using iPad. Kids will experiment with code and design an app using the About Me playground. They’ll use Swift code to customize their app with fun fonts, background colours, Memoji and more. Then you’ll work together to bring their app to life. Recommended for kids ages 10 and up. Devices will be provided.

Catch a ‘Plant Wars’ Live Theatre at Miquelon Lake
Poor Dandelion is wondering where she belongs in this big world. Unfortunately, she’s gotten mixed up with Darth Invader and their squadron of invasive plant species, bent on taking over Miquelon. Join us in this one-hour-long amphitheatre show to see how Dandelion learns how to save our native plant species and stop Darth Invader’s invasion.

Take a Beauty and the Beast Themed Scavenger Hunt on the Streets of Edmonton
Get ready for a twisted take on a classic tale, as this brand new Beauty and the Beast experience hits the streets of Edmonton on 29th July, 2023. Based on the original 18th century fairy tale, this magical outdoor adventure combines the challenge of an escape room with the excitement of an interactive scavenger hunt. Take a Comic Drawing Workshop
Visit the Downtown Edmonton Farmer’s Market and take a comic drawing class with a local artist. The two-hour classes with loads of drawing, writing and cartooning applications that help students create their own characters and storylines. A fast-paced and fun comic-creating session that will crush writer’s block, through collaboration, humour and tackling deadlines. Enhanced with a few creative drawing games with a focus on the silly, the ridiculous and the profound! I keep the class sizes small (10 students-maximum) to insure individual attention.

Celebrate Summer in the City in Leduc
This Saturday, it’s summer in the city in Leduc. Jump on a bouncy castle, visit the petting zoo, celebrate the non-rainy weather forecast with a trip to the spray park, take advantage of $2 admission to the Leduc Recreation Centre and free rentals at the Leduc Boat Club. Visit the Leduc Spray Park for a full day of activities like the inflatable obstacle course, skate competitions and a full day of exciting activities.

Visit the Edmonton Corn Maze
It’s corn maze season in Edmonton - and it’s the Edmonton Corn Maze’s opening season. This year, there’s a brand new maze and a brand new design for you to escape your way out of! Located just outside of the city, it’s a great way to get outside with the kids and get a head start on those classic late summer activities. We hope you’re ready for a challenge, there are more than 5 km of twists and turns and 85 decision points to make your way through the Edmonton Corn Maze!

Visit the Newborn Zebra at Edmonton Valley Zoo
This weekend, visit the newest addition to the Edmonton Valley Zoo. The Zebra, born this week, is a Grey’s Zebra, and is an important part of the survival plan for the species. While you’re there, visit more than two-hundred fifty animals at the Edmonton Valley zoo.
