GUIDE: 2020 Edmonton Light Up Festivals, Parades, and Christmas Festivals

It's Christmas Light up season, and though, like everything else, it looks a little different this year - there are still many ways that you can enjoy the holiday light up events in Edmonton and area.Canadian Tire Magic of Lights | November 20 - Season EndCanadian Tire Magic of Lights is a drive through experience where you can visit Castrol Raceway and catch the Magic of Lights, while maybe even catching a glimpse of Santa Cause while you're there.Kingsway Drive Through Christmas Lights Parade | November 21 

Pack the Car and come for a festive Drive-Thru Parade on Kingsway! There is free hot chocolate and cookies (while supplies last) and the first 300 cars receive a Holiday Goody Bag! Bring a donation in support of Edmonton's Food Bank. The cost is $10 per carload.
Zoominesence | November 26 to January 3
We’re ready to light up the night and show you the Edmonton Valley Zoo’s sparkle as we bring back one of Edmonton’s favourite holiday festivals! Beginning Friday, November 26, Zoominescence is back, proudly sponsored by Epcor! The Edmonton Valley Zoo has changed its hours for the holiday season. From November 26, 2020 until January 3, 2021, join us Thursdays through Sundays between 3:30-9:30 p.m. to see the zoo in a new light, with additional days on December 21, 22 and 23. Please note that the Epcor Zoominescence days/hours will be the ONLY time the zoo is open during this time period. The zoo will be closed Mondays-Wednesdays, as well as Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Lights up in Fort Saskatchewan | November 27At this COVID-safe event, families and or cohorts will get a chance to take socially distanced pictures with Saint Nick, gasp in awe at a model train display provided by Yellowhead Rail Club, warm up at our fire pits, take a custom photo at our photobooth (printed on-site as a take-away), and grab an individually wrapped cookie and hot chocolate as you exit the event site.Winter Wonder Forest | November 27 Until Season End 

The Winter Wonder Forest, presented by True Start Foundation in partnership with Snow Valley, is Edmonton's Enchanted Drive Thru Holiday Light Experience. We will be transforming over 115,000 sq feet of campground into a stunning and breathtaking Holiday light display to look at from the warmth of your own vehicle. This event is a family-friendly, socially distanced event. Fun for everyone and their dog!

Car passes are just $30 and all activities from our Winter Wonder Forest Activity Calendar are included in the cost of the car pass! Times are booked in half hour slots. Just head over to the Activities Calendar to see what is happening and then pick times that match the things you would like to see in the forest!

Merry & Bright Parade in Devon| November 28Christmas in the Park is proud to announce this year's Merry & Bright, 2020 Light Parade, bringing the festive feeling of Christmas in the Park to the whole town. You'll have the chance to see Santa and the Grinch, Transformation Glow Dancers, Ice Sculpture Float, and much more.Christmas Glow Edmonton | November 28 - Season End Christmas Glow features half a million twinkling lights, interactive displays, magical play park, train rides, LED swings, and visits with Santa. An instagrammable haven, there are also play opportunities amidst the seasonal experience.Drive Through Celebration of Lights | November 29

Wear your ugly holiday sweater or elf hat and join us at the Celebration of Lights drive-thru this year! This family-friendly event is entirely free and aims to entertain the whole family with an LED tree show, interactive lighting, holiday music, holiday inflatables, and friendly characters, as well as a special appearance from Santa.

To ensure a fun and safe event for all, attendees are asked to stay inside their vehicles at all times throughout the route. Please bring your pre-prepared letters to Santa as there will be a location on-site to drop them off before they get sent to the North Pole!

This year, it's drive through only, and there is no set up light up celebration, but it's a free way to experience the magic of Christmas lights at an Iconic Edmonton celebration.
