Hit up a summer green shack at an outdoor playground. Get active and join in on games, sport, crafts, music, drama and special events! A complete list of activities and special events is posted on the side of Green Shacks each week. (July 4 - End of Summer)

Scavenger Hunt in the Greenhouse

Visit Either location of Salisbury Greenhouse this summer where kids can take part in an easy scavenger hunt. When the scavenger hunt is finished, they can trade in their card for a small herb plant to take care of at home!

Try Geocaching and Find a Local Treasure
Date
: All month
Download the Geocaching app and hit up your favourite trail to see what you can find. It’s a fun treasure hunt that encouruages you to get out, and explore. Fun fact: there are close to 5,000 geocaches to find near Edmonton - that’s a lot of exploring near you this summer. Note: though there is a free version of this app available, not all the geocaches are available with the free version of the app.

Fire Station Open House: Capilano

Visit the Fire Station Open House at Station 11 – Capilano | 6110 – 98 Avenue. It’s a fun, and free way for the kids to experience a local fire station, meet with Firefighters and even explore a truck!

Edmonton Wildlife Festival at Queen Mary Park

Free Tickets for Kids to Edmonton Elks vs. Saskatchewan Roughriders

The kids get in free initiative, presented by Save-On-Foods, launches in time for this Thursday’s game against the Calgary Stampeders (7 p.m.). Adults looking to bring their youngsters to the game can get up to four kids tickets (12 and under) for every adult ticket purchased. While the tickets for kids 12 and under are free, they still need to be secured through Ticketmaster when the adult ticket is purchased. No promo code is required to secure the kids tickets – simply add them to your cart along with your adult ticket.
