6 Places to go River Tubing Near Edmonton (Float and Tube Spots within 2-Hours of Edmonton)

Though this week may not feel like it, tubing season is here. We're fortunate we have plenty of places to go tubing near Edmonton this summer and create those summer memories that last a lifetime.Here's where to go tubing near Edmonton this summer: 

Tubing the North Saskatchewan 

You don't even have to leave the city to have an experience tubing down the river. You can head out right here in the city to find a family friendly Edmonton tubing adventure. Try the easiest route you can find, starting at Whitemud Park and ending at Rafter's Landing.You get those gorgeous city views, and it's only a couple of hours on the river. You can use kayaks, paddle boards, floats - whatever you've got!

River Lifestyle Tubing

Located at the easy to reach Voyageur Park in Devon, this tubing experience is a kid-friendly way to enjoy the area. It's easy for families, but two adults are recommended with children. The shuttle service makes it simple to get back to where you parked. You can find the float times, and other information on their website, above. It's a popular spot for tubing near Edmonton, so you're going to want to book your spot ahead of time.

Pembina River Tubing

Whitecourt River Slides

Get ready for some fun! Bring your own tube to this tubing adventure course that's not a river, but makes it easy to enjoy a full day of fun with the kids. At Whitecourt River Slides, you have two tubing options to slide down through the day and both are slippery and fun. At the end of the one way course, there's a small bit of water. Adults can even go in the tubes, and get wet too.Only a short drive from Edmonton, the Whitecourt River Slides are a great way to get out there and enjoy some FREE summer fun with the kids. There is no admission fee, just make sure to bring your own tubes.

Discovery Canyon

Discovery Canyon, pictured above, is just ninety minutes from Edmonton and one of the best choices for families with younger, smaller kids. The easy to tube down course allows kids to start at one end by walking to the starting point, and ending the experience at a shallow created lake at the bottom. Tubes can be rented on-site, or you can bring your own, and there are no admission fees for Discovery Canyon.

Mcleod River Tubing 

You haven’t truly experienced Woodlands County until you’ve been tubing on the McLeod River, a local recreational favourite. Set sail at the Woodlands County tubing access “Put In” site located along West Mountain Road just outside of Whitecourt. The whole trip takes about 2.5 hours, and you can find a helpful map that highlights where to start, and end, right here.
