For $34.99 you’ll receive a Painted Lady Butterfly Raising Kit, to raise at home, and release early into the summer. It’s a fun way to observe the life cycle of butterflies, create science programming, at-home, and find magic.

What do you need that isn’t included in the butterfly raising kit in Edmonton?
At first, the caterpillars will arrive in a group raising container. When they’ve created their chrysalis, it’s time for them to move the group to a mesh container habitat, where the butterflies will emerge. The mesh habitats are not included in the butterfly raising kits, but can find these at Education station for sale (and re-use them every time you buy a butterfly raising kit in Edmonton). In the past, we’ve successfully used a mesh hamper from the dollar store as a habitat for the butterflies.
