Best Things to do in Edmonton this Weekend with Kids - August 16-18

This weekend we’re celebrating the fun, outdoor movie season in Edmonton with three different outdoor movies to watch with your kids, on the big screen. From drive-in to chairs and blankets, it’s a fun reason to stay up late. Celebrate anniversaries with the Art Gallery of Alberta, Coraline and try something new at an Urban Farm Kids Drop in.

Here are the best things to do in Edmonton this Weekend

Friday

Catch T. Rex in IMAX
This is a must-see for a day spent indoors exploring at Telus World of Science. The IMAX Movie combines CGI wizardry and revelations in tyrannosaur paleontology from over the past twenty-five years, filmmakers worked with top scientists, natural history institutions, and pioneering paleo and visual effects artists aiming to bring you the most dazzling and accurate Tyrannosaurus rex IMAX 3D documentary ever made! Narrated by Sam Neill of Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III fame. It’s a super cool film that shows the T. Rex in an entirely new light. Follow it up with Dino nuggies!

Gets Outside and Learn Something New Bugology at Miquelon Lake
Is a Lady bug really a bug? Some may think they are creepy crawlies, but insects and other invertebrates are fascinating critters with amazing adaptations!  Come over and look at the secret lives of some of the tiniest park animals.

Catch an Outdoor Movie on the Big Screen
This weekend, there are three outdoor movies to choose from. The Drive-in movie at Stony Plain Road on Sunday afternoon, Fort Saskatchewan Movie Under the Stars and Town of Devon Movies in the Park.

Catch ‘Coraline’ on the Big Screen
