It’s August long weekend and though we’re wondering how we got here, we’re also aware of the fun we’ve had with our kids in Edmonton so far this summer. Here’s to another month of adventures, exploring and finding the best things to do in Edmonton with kids - and hopefully, a month of sunny days.

Take a Free Wild Things Walk at Miquelon Lake
Let’s go discover the wild side of Miquelon. Journey with a Park Interpreter along Grebe Pond Trail to explore this season’s plants and animals. Whether you are interested in seeing baby animals and pretty flowers or like to identify everything around you, there is something for everyone on this walk.

Fairy Berry Festival at Prairie Gardens
Experience the Fairy Berry Festival at Prairie Gardens Adventure Farm. Admission includes face painting, corn maze, sunflower maze, rope maze, animal viewing, petting zoo, bale maze, tire toss, playgrounds, fairy crafts, U-pick vegetable tours and a five dollar voucher. You can use this voucher on activities like Gem Mining, or Special Fairy Crafts; anything you put in your belly, like Ice Cream, Lunch, Sweets & Treats; and anything that you’d like to take home with you, like Vegetables, Giftware, Souvenirs, Trees, and Shrubs!

Free Kids Club at Edmonton Urban Farm
Everyone is welcome to visit, have a coffee, explore the Urban Farm, pet a bunny, meet a gardener. Always free and always family friendly! Kids Club runs every Saturday, June 1-September 28, 11-12:30. It is a free, garden-focused drop-in with capacity for 25 young ones.

Nature Investigators at Miquelon Lake
Can you solve the Miquelon mysteries? There are many clues in uncovering the secret lives of Miquelon’s animals. Join the investigative interpreter as they teach you how to snoop, spy, and identify the tracks and traces they leave behind!

Free Make & Take at the LEGO Store
Visit the LEGO Store on August 4, 2024 for a FREE Lego Make & Take Apple. This fun, free, drop-in, FREE Lego activity in Edmonton is a fun way to kick off back to school shopping, with the activity available at both locations of the LEGO store in Edmonton: Southgate Centre and West Edmonton Mall.

Peek in a Pond at Miquelon Lake
Ever wonder what lies beneath the surface? Dive in to this fun and interactive program to discover for yourself what kind of critters call Grebe pond home. Get down on your bellies and dip into the reeds to see what you will catch! This free event is held at Miquelon Lake and is for all ages.

Spend the Day at Sassy G’s Adventure Farm
Spend the day at Sassy G’s Adventure Farm. There are more than forty attractions to explore at the farm, animals to view and many different places to play for kids of all ages. Cool off with the water gun obstacle course, and check out the biggest Ninja course on a farm in Edmonton area!

Dinosaurs, T.Rex and Dino Nuggies
Catch the T. Re Movie on the IMAX at TELUS WORLD OF SCIENCE. Catch a screening of T. Rex. Combining CGI wizardry and revelations in tyrannosaur paleontology from over the past twenty-five years, filmmakers worked with top scientists, natural history institutions, and pioneering paleo and visual effects artists aiming to bring you the most dazzling and accurate Tyrannosaurus rex IMAX 3D documentary ever made! It’s Wedding Weekend at Fort Edmonton Park
Wedding weekend at Fort Edmonton Park is one of a kind! On August 3 and 4th, visit the Park to see reenactments of historic traditional weddings. You'll see everything from brides getting ready to bachelor parties from the past and ceremonies!
