Celebrate New Year’s Eve with Fireworks at Ice District Plaza

This year, you can celebrate New Year’s Eve in Edmonton at Ice District Plaza.

With the Oilers facing off against the Winnipeg Jets for a New Year’s Eve matchup at 8:00 PM, fans are invited down to ICE District Plaza starting at 6:00 PM for a tailgate party and watch party.

Following the game, ICE District Plaza will be transformed into Edmonton’s biggest New Year’s Eve with live bands, DJs, food and beverages, giant countdown screens and an epic fireworks display at the stroke of midnight followed by even more live entertainment.

New Year’s Eve at Ice District Plaza

  • Though there are going to be a ton of people, and likely places to warm up (like heaters and fireplaces), bundle up the kids with multiple layers, or bring a blanket to cover up the kids if you’re using sleds instead of strollers

  • Giant countdown screens and fireworks will take place at midnight. If you’re tempted to wait until the hockey game is over to try and get a spot to view the fireworks outdoors, you might want to look from afar. Ice District events tend to fill early!
