City of Edmonton Launches Free Family Adventure Club North Program for Fall Outdoor Fun

Family Adventure Club North showcases the City of Edmonton’s new Northeast River Valley Park (903 153 Ave NE) through various outdoor and nature based learning activities. Leaders are excited to share an adventure with you in Edmonton's new North East River Valley Park, during a monthly drop-in play session.

Free Edmonton Family Adventure Club Drop-in Program

  • Basic navigation skills including map reading and compass work

  • Build a fire without paper and how to build simple tarp shelters

  • Basic hiking skills including Leave No Trace Principles

  • Identify various animals and plants

  • Prepare to participate in the Birds Canada Christmas Bird Count

Come dressed for the weather, wear closed-toe shoes and don’t forget water and snacks. Children under 6 need to be accompanied by an adult. Children 6-12 years old are welcome to attend on their own. 

Upcoming fall and winter dates: September 28, October 26, November 23 & December 14, 2024 between 1:30 - 4:30.

October 26, 2024: Orienteering and Navigation
November 23, 2024: Hiking 101 and Nature Identification
December 14, 2024: Christmas Bird Count
