Discovery Canyon Tubing Course is Open for the Season

Discovery Canyon is open for the season! It’s a fun way to spend a full day with the kids, near Edmonton. Located in Red Deer, it’s a really fun way to experience the area, cool off in the tubing course, or wade in the pond at the bottom of the tubing course.

Here’s what you need to know before you visit Discovery Canyon, 2023

  • Discovery Canyon is open for the season June 1, 2023. You can visit daily between 11am to 7pm, and spend a few hours tubing down the course, playing in the pond and building castles in the sand.

  • You’ll need a tube to enjoy the waterpark area, but you can bring your own or rent a tube on site through a wristband system. A wristband is only $6/person, and can allow you to tube the small course without having to bring your own tube with you to the park.

  • In addition to the tubing course, there is a playground on-site, and a concession.

  • You can expect to spend a few hours on-site at Discovery Canyon - but we’ve found that children under ten will enjoy Discovery Canyon the most. Older children might find the tubing course a little less exciting than the younger crew.

  • There are amenities on site including: picnic sites, free parking, toilets and washrooms, trail system and of course, the playground.

  • When you bring your own tube, consider that you cannot use a tube with a solid bottom, or raft - the tube must have a hole in the bottom.

Red Deer’s Discovery Canyon can be found within the River Bend Golf and Recreation Area at 3800 River Bend Drive in Red Deer.
