Family-friendly Things to do in Edmonton - April 11-13

This weekend, we’re kicking off Easter activities here in Edmonton. The weather is gorgeous and spring feels like it’s arrived. It’s time to get outside, discover a new playground, a place to play or an adventure in the city! Have younger kids and interested in risky play opportunities? FRIDAY

  • Friday and Saturday is BRING YOUR OWN CUP at 7Eleven
    Bring your own cup to Slurpee at 7Eleven. Get your option of filled-cup in-store and get your hands on a spring treat (up to big, big sizes!) for $2.49. Bring your own cup is happening at 7Eleven on Friday and Saturday this week!

  • Parents Night out at Code Ninjas
    Code Ninjas is hosting a parents night out where you can paint your own 3D printed lamp! This is a three-hour drop off program where kids can learn, build and create at Code Ninjas, and you can enjoy three hours of kid-free fun.

  • Swimming and Crafts at City of Edmonton Pools
    Splash into fun at city of Edmonton because there’s even more fun to be had at the next drop in swimming time. There are themed-crafts, games and fun as part of your regular pool admission.

Saturday

  • FREE Home Depot Kids Workshop: Make a Globe Planter
    Join Home Depot at 8:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. the second Saturday of each month for a Kids Workshops. Kids can learn how to build their very own Globe Planter. If you are looking for a fun activity to do with the family, Home Depot has a great workshop for kids that will teach them about building. Kids can learn how to build their very own Globe Planter.

  • City of Edmonton Play Rangers: Orienteering
    This month, families can expect orienteering practice! Want to play with a GPS, maybe look to see if you can find a Geocache or even lean a little about maps? If you do, come check us out, GPS will be provided for the program.

  • Easter fun at the Fort Heritage Precinct
    Enjoy FREE games, crafts, face painting, and a scavenger hunt! Lots of festive fun for the whole family! There will also be access to our wonderful exhibit about the North-West Mounted Police and their contributions to the history of Fort Saskatchewan.

  • Spring Fest at Manning Town Centre
    This year, enjoy roaming performers, airbrush tattoos, balloon twisting, more games than ever before, and, of course, free samples and giveaways!

  • FREE Sip into Spring Showhome Event
    While you tour these incredible homes, enjoy a blossoming atmosphere filled with exciting activities for all ages, including warm tea, tea leaf readings for a touch of mysticism, delicious treats, a DIY Hat Station to design your own stylish spring accessory, and a Paint-a-Teacup station to create a one-of-a-kind keepsake.   • Easter Egg Decorating at John Walter Museum
    Grab your kistka and decorate Easter eggs with us! Learn the art of pysanky in our historic homes. Our interpreters will teach you some beginner steps and designs and you’ll walk away with your own decorated egg. All materials provided.
