Online Appointment Requests for Influenza Vaccinations are Open NOW for Families with Children 5 and Under

Every year we stand in the drop-in line at the local health centre to get the influenza vaccine. This year will be a little different, as instead of dropping into the local health centre, we'll be making an appointment online to have our family vaccinated.What do you need to book the appointment? You'll need personal health care number, of every person who is attending the appointment, to register for an appointment online. If you happened to have misplaced your card, you can contact Alberta Health Services, or even your family physician to get the health care number.

Immunization Eligibility & Access

Starting October 19, AHS will offer vaccine through pre-booked appointment only, to children under five years of age and their family and household members. Those who are eligible to receive influenza immunization through AHS are required to book an AHS appointment using the online booking tool.What's new this year? To ensure our clinics can operate safely with all necessary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, there will be no drop-in immunizations at any AHS clinic for influenza immunization.For parents of children over the ages of five, or adults who would like the influenza vaccine, pharmacists will offer the vaccine to all Albertans age five years and older, physicians will offer the vaccine to patients nine years and older, or starting at 6 months up, depending on your physician. Individuals who do not have a provincial health care number, or who live in a community where there are no other immunizing health care providers, can call Health Link to seek immunization through AHS.Learn more, and book an appointment at www.albertahealthservices.ca.
