Safer INDOOR Play Spaces taking part in the Restrictions Exemption Program in Edmonton

It’s coming into winter, where a lot of the play we’re taking part in with the kids starts to transition to indoors. As parents, and as members of the community who care about our neighbours, community members and vulnerable in the city - we want to ensure that we can do this as safely as possible.

Here’s where to play, safely, where ages 12+ will be required to show proof of vaccination upon entry:

Amazone Playzone

Amazone Playzone is a favourite for the older kids in our crowd. With the adventure course, and zipline that goes through the entire facility, you’re going to want to come early, and plan to stay for hours. Entry is discounted for families that arrive early, or come during the later, evening hours. There are many options on-site for food, kid friendly, like pizza, chicken fingers and hot dogs and fries.

Allstars Playland

Another favourite where every single one of our kids could play for hours, Allstars Playland is a hot choice for young kids, and the older ones because of the two levels of entertainment and plenty of things to do while we’re there. There’s a variety of food, and a lot of healthier options that you won't find at other places - you can even get a discount if you arrive early in the day!

City of Edmonton Rec Centres

The City of Edmonton is adopting the Government of Alberta’s Restriction Exemption Program. Beginning September 20, everyone visiting a City recreation centre, arena or attraction will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or recent negative test result. With many options to choose from, for drop in swimming and play time, you can feel safer playing indoors in the facilities with your kids.

Clip n Climb

The best hour you’re going to spend tiring out your kids this year - honestly, it’s one of the coolest places for kids to literally climb the walls in Edmonton. The hour-long climbing session is full of fun, with 20+ different walls for them to climb in the gym, with different games and activities built into each.

Foam Fighters

Drop in NERF, gaming and target range perfect for kids of all ages, Foam Fighters has made the decision to take part in the Restrictions Exemption Program. You can book anywhere from two games of NERF, to birthday parties and other celebrations on their website.

Game OVR

Get ready to enter a whole new world! We can’t wait to head back to Game OVR for some VR fun because they have an incredible selection of games and the newest technology that allows you to free roam while you play! Drop in for some fun (perfect for kids 6+ in our experience) and try something new!

Laser City

Laser tag - safer? Yes please. Our kids could play game, after game, after game, of Laser Tag. Plus, there’s laser tag, mini paintball, VR games, E-sports, and so much more fun. Best for the 8+ crowd, it’s a fun place to play as we start to spend more time indoors and think about fall/winter birthday parties.

Millennium Place Indoor Playground/Ardrossan Recreation Complex

The Edu-tainment Centres at Ardrossan Recreation Complex and Millennium Place are reopen for drop-in. No pre-booking is required, you can pop into Millennium Place or Ardrossan Recreation and play, safely.

Sweetpea Cafe & Playhouse

The ultimate place to play pretend and enjoy delicious food while the kids do it, you can book your 90 minute session online. They have made incredible strides in creating a safe place to play, like ensuring there is a limit capacity, a separate door to enter and exit, and enhanced cleaning session after each playtime!

Treehouse South Edmonton

Treehouse South Edmonton has more than 12,000 SF of places to jump, slide, and play in the indoor playground. We love the fact that there is half off of admission on Wednesday mornings, and the PARENTS NIGHT OUT!

UPlay Edmonton

Trampolines, indoor playground and fun-times, you know your kids are going to have fun when you combine those two experiences. The fun playground offers four speed slides, a massive twisting slide, and obstacle courses. For your little ones the toddler area is the perfect spot for your child to learn through play.
