The weekend is almost here and we’ve got you covered for things to do in Edmonton with kids. From free admission to Elk Island National Park and Canada Day celebrations, to the opening of the local outdoor pools and Sylvan Lake Splash Park.

Friday

It’s a Mall Carnival at Millwoods Town Centre
The midway is coming to Mill Woods this weekend. Wild Rose Shows has a collection of nearly 50 rides. Play the classic fair games, grab a snack from one of the classic fair food stands, and fair rides like the Carousel, Gravitron and the Ferris Wheel. Open all weekend long, ride all day bracelets are the way to go if you want to get the best bang for your buck at the Canada Day celebration.

Free Admission Day at Elk Island National Park
Just 35 minutes east of Edmonton lies a natural wonderland open all year long! Spread a blanket and gaze at a starry sky free from city lights or follow the footprints of a bison and learn how this magnificent animal was brought back from near extinction. In addition to being an important refuge for bison, elk and more than 250 bird species, Elk Island National Park is also an oasis of calm for day picnickers and overnight campers alike. Sylvan Lake Aqua Splash Opens for the Season This Weekend
Get in the car! It’s road trip season! Sylvan Lake Aqua Splash Park opens for the season on July 1st, so let’s hope the weather cooperates and we can get out for an adventure on the lake. Tickets can be purchased in advance, via the Splash Park website.

Explore Al Fresco on 104th
Get ready to eat, drink, dance and play the Saturday away on 104 Street. You can enjoy a free yoga class with the kids, or an art class. Shop for produce, delicious treats and local market vendors, every Saturday between 11AM and 3PM.

Warm Up to Worlds Invitational
This family-friendly event will play host to a number of activities and activations happening throughout the weekend including a Mini-Legends relay where the small but mighty athletes will heat up the track! Enjoy food and beer trucks, merch tents and more!

Doors Open Edmonton Historic Festival
