This weekend, we’re coming into the second month of summer, and it’s a long weekend! You’ve got an extra day to fit in that family fun with the kids. From outdoor pool dates, to festivals, out of town adventure and the corn maze, we’ve got you covered for everything to do in Edmonton this weekend with kids.

Spend the Afternoon at the Outdoor Pool
Kids under the age of twelve get free admission to outdoor pools, all season long. Spend the morning or afternoon at one of the outdoor pools in Edmonton (Borden Park and Queen Elizabeth are the top picks for the kids on our team). Book your timed session in advance to avoid being turned away at the pool!

Friday Night Fireworks at the Riverhawks Game
Enjoy family fun, a baseball game and Friday night Fireworks at an Edmonton Riverhawks Baseball Game. It’s a fun Friday night out (don’t skip the new food options!) an the fireworks are an added bonus!

Festival in a Box Parade
The Edmonton Art Council is bringing back Festival in Box for another year with an exciting parade and party in the streets! Join them Saturday, July 30, 2022 as an array of fabulous musicians and roving artists take to the streets for a whole lot of fun. It all starts from the Westwood Community League at at 1:00 pm.

Fun at Eastglen Leisure Centre
At Eastglen Recreation Centre on Saturday afternoon (12-30:30 pm), you can take part in a family fun event! There will be free swimming assessments, the opportunity to dunk the lifeguard and even take advantage of face painting! Local food trucks will be on site for lunch!

Ferry Berry Festival at Prairie Garden Adventure Farm
Visit Prairie Garden Adventure Farm for the Fairy Berry Festival featuring face painting, kids corrn maze, sunflower maze, dragno maze, rope maze, animal visits, petting zoo, tire toss, bale maze and lawn games at the farm. Your ticket will also include a five dollar voucher that can be used for games on the farm, like gem mining.

Free Family Fun at Al Fresco on 104th
There are free activities every weekend, for all ages. This is a fun, pop-up market experience that you have to enjoy at least once this summer. This weekend, there are free salsa lessons, circus activities, and beading workshops.

Fire Station Open House: Pilot Sound
Calling all firefighting obsessed kids. Free fire station open house events are BACK in Edmonton. At the open house, kids can meet a firefighter, tour the house, interact with a firetruck and learn more about the local fire rescue service!

Take a Guided Nature Walk at Snow Valley
Parks Canada will be leading a guided nature walk through the Whitemud Creek Ravine at 1:00pm. Meet with the Elk Island team and learn all about local wildlife and how to prepare for your next hiking adventure! Parks Canada will be here July 17, 31 and August 7. No registration required!

The Edmonton Heritage Festival is a three-day event to sample delicious food, see creative performances, and experience Canada’s multiculturalism.
