Mild weather is here! This weekend, get outside and enjoy it. Whether you’re gearing up for the holidays and finding holiday activities, or you want to get outside and enjoy this gorgeous mild weather, we’ve got you covered for fun things to do in Edmonton with kids.

Friday

Light Up Fort Saskatchewan

At this fun light up event, you can take socially distanced pictures with Saint Nick, warm up at our fire pits, take a custom photo at our photo booth (printed on-site as a take-away), grab an individually wrapped cookie and hot chocolate, take home a custom caricature print, take photos with our roaming characters such as Elsa, Anna and the Grinch, marvel as the Mayor reads T’was the Night Before Christmas, and lastly partake in the countdown as we Light Up City Hall.

Design your own Minifigure at the LEGO Store

If you’ve stepped into the new location of the LEGO store at West Edmonton Mall, you might have noticed something new. The Build Your Own Minifigure offers over 150 templates to choose from for your figure’s torso, finish up by finger painting with different brushes, add icons and emojis, or text in different color and fonts.

Drive Through the Magic of Lights

Magic of Lights is a unique and dazzling drive-through holiday lights experience to celebrate the season. Drive through the magic of Lights this holiday season at Rad Torqueway. You can get a pass to visit for as little as $30, and a dash pass to skip the general admission line up for $50. This year, there are over a million lights that

Saturday

Lite up the Nite Fireworks, Light-Up and Festival 

Parade, hot chocolate stations, light up events and fireworks, there’s a fun, and free festival in Morinville to explore and kick off the holiday season in Edmonton area.

City of Edmonton Play Rangers

Play Rangers focuses on building community and family participation with planned special outdoor activities that can be enjoyed by families or individuals. Children 6-12 years old are welcome to attend on their own. Starting location will always be the shack at the park and some activities may venture into the community.

Play Rangers will run on Saturdays from September 18 - December 18 at a variety of locations. Neighbourhood playgrounds will either have an AM program time (10:30am-12:30pm) or a PM program time (2-4pm).

Christmas in Central Park

Join in the magical transformation of Central Park into a splendor of light! After being unable to hold a light up ceremony last year, we are pleased to return to Central Park with a renewed focus to celebrate culture, community connections, light, and the magic of winter at this free event.

Winter Whyte Light Up

Join the Old Strathcona Business Association as we light up McIntyre Park to kick-off the holiday season. On Saturday, November 27, we’re turning McIntyre Park into a winter wonderland and celebrating the holidays with a fun and family-friendly event!

Drop in LEGO Building at Kingsway Mall

Build a Village with us this holiday season! Twice a week KINGSWAY Mall will be hosting safe, free, LEGO building workshops that anyone can enjoy.

Drop in from the following days:⁣ Wednesdays from 5 PM - 7 PM and Saturdays from 10 AM – 12 PM, located on the main level by Booster Juice starting November 24th.⁣

Leduc Santa Claus Parade

Santa Claus is coming back to town and he’s starting at Main Street for the 2021 Santa Claud Parade. Pre-parade activities start at 6PM with hot dogs, hot chocolate, carollers, pictures with Santa, his elves and much more fun to be had. The parade starts at 7PM, where you can see Santa in the parade himself!

Cut Down Your Own Christmas Tree

Visit Fir Real Evergreen Farm and chop down your own Christmas tree! All you have to bring is yourself - they provide everything you need to cut down your own tree!

Kingsway Drive by Parade - November 28, 2021 

Nothing is more festive than a parade during the Holiday Season! Come join us for some fun and holiday spirit on Kingsway! The Big Guy in the Red Suit will be hitching a ride to Kingsway Mall where he will be dropped off.
