How's everyone feeling after the first week of school? I don't know about you but I'm glad the weekend is here! We're looking forward to spending more time outside as the weather cools, enjoying time at the beach with the last few warm days of the year, and spending time with the kids on a low-key weekend in the city.Here's what to do this weekend in Edmonton:Friday 

Symphony Under the Sky

Join us in Hawrelak Park for the return of your favourite summer tradition! Your Edmonton Symphony Orchestra will perform two programs of sensational music during Simply Symphony Under the Sky, taking place August 26 to September 5.Saturday 

Harvest Festival at Reynolds Alberta Museum

Harvest Festival is here. Enjoy the weekend exploring the festival. Things to do on the grounds include: Watch as we harvest our wheat crop using both steam and gasoline-powered equipment, See threshing machines at work, View the modern John Deere equipment display from Martin Deerline, Watch tractor starting and driving demonstrations, Watch swathing, combining, ploughing and stooking demonstrations, Ride the tractor shuttle between the main building and the Aviation Display Hangar, Play carnival games and win prizes in the Family Fun Zone, Visit your animal friends in the petting zoo.

Art Expresssions at Royal Alberta Museum

Glide, dab, tap and swish. Gather your family and use a variety of materials to create prints and artwork inspired by the Breathe exhibition. Guided by one of our Museum Educators, share, discuss, learn and create with RAM.

Day Trip: Long Island Lake Beach

The weather on Saturday is going to be perfect for a trip to the beach. Head out to Long Island lake for the day and spend one of the last sunny days of the long weekend at the beach. There's a fantastic playground on the shore, a dog for the kids to jump off of, and a concession for you to buy snacks if you forgot them at home. You can snag your day use pass for only $10 and book it ahead of time on the Westlock County website.Sunday 

Enchanted Princess High Tea

There will be 10 Surprise Princesses in attendance, each with their very own themed table! Enjoy a "Royal Tea” Service (Different flavours of punch for the children, with tea and coffee available for adults), along with sweet desserts! There will be meet and greets with each princess as well as singing and photos galore! Each child will get the opportunity to take photos with the Princesses at the end, please make sure to bring your own camera so you can capture the magic! We’re so excited to make every child and adult alike feel like Royalty for the day!

Landmark Kids Day

Every Sunday, kids can get out of the house and score a movie ticket and Snack Pack (popcorn, drink, choice of candy treat) for one great, low price.Every movie, every Sunday. Landmark Cinemas' Kid's Day – turn the average Sunday into a movie-filled Funday. Summer Sizzle in Ambleside

Fort Saskatchewan Sheep Leaving Parade 

It is that bittersweet time of year – the trees change colour and our beloved turf-trimming sheep prepare for their journey home.
