Weekend Guide: Things to do in Edmonton this Weekend March 3-5, 2023

It’s the first weekend of March, and though spring might not feel like it’s here just yet - we can feel it coming. This weekend, take part in snow tubing to end the season, spend time outdoors and enjoy the last few weeks of winter hanging on.

Here’s what to do in Edmonton this Weekend with Kids

Friday

Friday Night Snow Tubing
Get discounted, Friday-night snow tubing tickets with the kids for Hops on the Hill. Get on the tubing hill and spend a couple of hours zooming down. Tickets are $17 and include two hours of tubing, live music, and a rotating brewery every week (for the parents!)

Lantern Making at CoLaB
Participants will learn to create glowing bee lanterns following the instruction of GABS, a local lantern artist and creator of Bryson The Bison. GABS will walk you through step by step, helping you create a beautiful lantern to take home. Join us again on March 25 for our annual GLOW Spring Equinox Lantern Parade, when we will be showing off your beautiful creations with a parade through Boyle Street, followed by refreshments, music, art, and dancing at CO*LAB!

Drop-in Inflatables in the Pool
Every Saturday at Millennium Place you can have fun on the inflatable in the pool, included with your admission to drop-in swimming. Enjoy a deep water rec swim with diving, flippers and bigger mats and toys.

Got little ones at home? Enjoy all-ages programming from the comfort of your local Cineplex. Everyone’s favourite movie snacks await! Family Favourites program runs movies every Saturday morning, for only $2.99 +tax.

Drop-in Wibit in the Pool at MacEwan
Make a splash, or try as long as you can not to, with our new and wild water Wibit. Run, climb, crawl, hop, balance, and slide your way across the aquatic obstacle course. Wibit Swims are the first Saturday of every month from 2 to 4 p.m.

Family Movie Night: Puss in Boots
It's a family night at the movies! We will be showing Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. Doors will open at 5:30 and the movie will start at 6. We will have a concession but feel free to bring your own snacks! Bring something to sit on - a blanket, a bean bag chair, we've even seen air mattresses! We look forward to seeing you!

Kids Clay Class
Why should kids have all the fun?! Make it a date with your child/grandchild and explore the possibilities of clay while making a memorable keepsake together in our clay studio. You’ll have time to build your clay sculpture and paint it during your class session, after which our instructors will coat it in clear glaze and fire it in our kilns.

Try Luge at Rabbit Hill
Get your kids outdoors to have some exciting fun learning about Luge. During this FREE Demo Luge session, participants will learn the basic skills necessary to manipulate a Luge sled safely down the hill. FREE Michaels Sunday Make Break
This weekend, you can pop by your local Michaels store for a FREE fun activity with the kids. Pour painting is a really, really fun activity - but it can make a big mess in your house! Skip the mess at home and bring the kids to Michaels Sunday Make Break for the free craft time, including all supplies. Kids can take part in the craft while you browse the store or join in (parents have to remain on site).
