WEEKEND GUIDE: Things to do in Edmonton this Weekend with Kids - April 15-18, 2022

Happy Easter Weekend! Here’s hoping the weather warms up, and we can bundle up less for those upcoming outdoor egg hunts! Not sure what to do this weekend in Edmonton? There’s plenty happening for kids and families in the city. Here’s what to do with kids all weekend, in Edmonton:

Friday

Take a Photo with the Easter Bunny
Visit Cabela’s for a free photo with the Easter bunny, or check out one of the malls like Londonderry, or Bonnie Doon to grab a photo and have a visit with the Easter bunny in Edmonton. Book your time in advance for Londonderry, here.

Easter Weekend at Prairie Garden Adventure Farm
Have a special meet and greet at the adventure Farm! The new, Farm Animal Discovery Pass is $25 per person ages 3 and up. Adults must also each purchase a pass. Ages 2 and under are free. Please note, as children 2 and under are free, they will not receive a $5 voucher – however, you can purchase additional vouchers for them if you would like!

Saturday

Easter Egg Hunt in Jubilee Park
Bring your kids, bring your neighbours kids and come join us for our first annual Easter Egg Hunt in Spruce Grove's Jubilee Park! There are two hunts, one for older kids and one for younger kids.

Easter Egg Hunt at Kiwi Nurseries
You will have to look around the trail for eggs, bunnies and all things Easter! At the end of the trail, trade in your scavenger list to the Easter Bunny for a special surprise for your family! The trail system is still new and not suitable for small strollers or anyone that needs assistance walking. Please wear appropriate footwear, as it could be a bit muddy depending on the weather.

Strathcona County Egg Hunt
Visit Sherwood Park for a GIANT Easter Egg Hunt at Broadmoor Lake Park. Over 50,000 chocolate Easter Eggs to gather, kids craft area, free throw challenge with the Edmonton Stingers, Famous Donair, Mascots, and lights and sirens from the RCMP and Community Peace Officers. There is something for the whole family.

See ‘HOP’ on the Big Screen for $2.99
See HOP at Cineplex Family Favourites for $2.99 on Saturday morning and celebrate Easter on the big screen with a movie at your local Cineplex. Tickets can be booked in advance, online, for the 11am screening.

Catch a Circus Performance - Vivaree at Firefly Theatre
VIVAREE is a vivacious variety show featuring Acrobats, Jugglers, Comedians, and Pups! The show feratures an Aerialist dances on the Lollipop Lyra, a contortionist bends herself into knots, Acrobats pop in and out of tubes, there are clubs flying through the air, dancing cutlery, and Australian Shepherds Berri and Figgy Duff, all on stage to entertain YOU!  

Blackmud Creek Easter Egg Hunt
There will be egg hunts for 2 age groups – 1-6 year olds & 7-10 year olds. All children registered for our Easter Egg Hunt at Blackmud Creek Park on April 16th will be entered to win a gift basket courtesy of Southbrook Sobeys.

Enchanted Weekend at West Edmonton Mall
On Saturday and Sunday, your favourite characters from A Charmed Affair will be popping up throughout the mall to spread Spring cheer and hand out sweet treats to celebrate the Easter Weekend!

Sunday

Easter Trail Rides at WELCA
Viist WELCA for a fun, 30 min guided trail ride on April 17th! Helmets and hot chocolate will be provided along with themed gift bags for the kids.

Monday

Easter Monday at Edmonton Valley Zoo
Come and be a part of all the exciting activities taking place throughout the year at the Edmonton Valley Zoo. Learn about the animals in their habitats while you play and have fun!
