Where to Take Kids Swimming Around Edmonton in Spring 2021

It's been a long, long time since our kids have been in a swimming pool - months, since nearly last summer. On a recent staycation, we've discovered just how much we've missed swimming, and since that point, we've been working our way through many of the local hotels that offer access to guests to physically-distanced pool time.

Here's where to take kids swimming indoors in Edmonton during Spring 2021

Local Hotels

There are a select number of hotels that have opened their pools to hotel guests. At the same time as checking in, or near check-in, you can select a time slot to visit the hotel pool. Local hotels with pool access for guests include:

Local YMCA Locations

Local YMCA locations have opened up reservations for families to book a time slot to visit the local pool. You must have a YMCA account to make the booking, and you can sign up here.

Household Swim Lessons in Strathcona County 

4-week session of 30 minute lessons with up to 3 members of the same household. Register one individual using Recreation Online to book your time slot, then email swimming@strathcona.ca or call 780-464-8236 to add additional family members to your registration.Participants below Red Cross Swim Kids Level 4 require a caregiver to accompany them in the water. Caregivers must wear a mask at all times. Find household lessons schedule.Swim lessons are also opening for private lessons, and regular classes. Registration begins March 23, 2021.
