Explore the Whitemud Creek ravine to look for lady slippers, shooting stars, and other neat wildflowers! Along the way we'll also keep an eye out for butterflies, bees, and other pollinators joining in our wildflower search. Grace Kwong from the Edmonton Nature Club and Nature Alberta's Nick Carter will show participants how to find and identify plants, pollinators, and other ravine residents, and we'll record our findings on iNaturalist as part of the Alberta Biodiversity Challenge!

The Whyte Avenue Art Walk is Edmonton’s first Art Walk with 460 artists sharing their creative talents and lining the streets of Old Strathcona during the second weekend in July. People are invited to buy art directly from the artists and watch as they create. All visual artists, brave enough to share their work, are welcome to participate. The Art Walk is a non-juried event that attracts professional artists, amateurs, and students.

Edmonton Heritage Festival
The Edmonton Heritage Festival is the world's largest three-day multiculturalism celebration. The festival showcases a diversity of cuisine, entertainment, interpretive materials, and crafts worldwide. There is no admission fees to enter or to watch the many cultural dances and folk music shows throughout the day. Attendees will be able to purchase various food made by the pavilions. Due to the renovations currently happening at our usual home of Hawrelak Park, the festival has been relocated to the Edmonton Exhibition Lands and Borden Parks.

Bison Backstage is the exclusive, behind the scenes look at bison conservation at Elk Island. Visitors will be led through the Plains Bison Handling Facility and along the way will learn about the history of bison, how they affect the prairie landscape around them, and how parks staff continue the ongoing role in bison conservation efforts. This is a 1-hour walking tour that covers approximately 1 kilometer over uneven ground.
