City of Edmonton Pools Open for 2023 Starting May 20 (Here’s the Full Schedule - and how to Book Your Swim Spot)

It’s that time of year, when we’re thinking about the ways that we can cool off with the kids, without breaking the bank. The best way to cool off in Edmonton is the city’s outdoor pools.

Here’s what you need to know about the City of Edmonton 2023 Outdoor Pool Opening:

  • The outdoor pool opens May 20, and reservations can be made starting May 13, 2023. Reservations can be booked online, and paid for online, or in-person, at the pool when you arrive. The zero-depth entry and spray features make Fred Broadstock pool a favourite for families with young children in Edmonton.

  • Continuing this year, you can register for, or drop-in as promptly as possible, at the times below to enjoy 1 hour and 45 minutes of public swim. Multiple admissions can be purchased for a longer visit.

  • City of Edmonton Swimming Pools are scheduled to open on the following dates, weather permitting:

    • Fred Broadstock Outdoor Pool: May 20 (Reservations open May 13)

    • Queen Elizabeth Outdoor Pool and Kinsmen Spray Park: May 30 (Reservations open May 23)

    • Oliver: June 3 (Reservations open May 27)

    • Borden Natural Swimming Pool: June 10 (Reservations open June 3)
