Discovery Canyon Tubing Course Opens for the Season June 1
Summer isn’t truly here until our favourite Edmonton area attractions open for the season - and that day is nearly here. Discover Canyon, the kid-friendly tubing course and swimming hole near Red Deer, opens for the season on June 1, 2022.
The tubing course is a favourite free thing to do with kids in Alberta, where you can bring your own tube (just make sure it’s between 30-50 inches) or rent a tube from the concession area for only $5 during your visit.
Tips for Visiting Discovery Canyon in Red Deer
The tubing hours for the season open on June 1st, and then are open daily between 11AM and 7PM, depending on weather. You can check the daily weather forecast, and the status of the tubing park on the website.
As we mentioned, tubes brought from home to tube the small course must be between 30-50”, but tubes must also have no solid bottom.
Parking is easily located, on-site
In addition to tube rentals, concession is available for drinks and food
The pond is shallow, but as the waves that push the tubes down the course can be stronger, children unable to swim should wear a floatation device while spending time in the water.
