It’s Friday Night so kick off the weekend with a tubing event at Sunridge. Hops on the Hill features a new brewery every week for the parents, making it a perfect break from the hill while the kids spend two hours tubing down the ski hill.

FREE Recreational Swim with Inflatables at Emerald Hills
Inflatables in the pool make it more exciting than ever to go for a swim! At Emerald Hills this weekend, the inflatables are in the pool and it’s the perfect course for the younger children. Visit the pool between 4-8 for the little-kid friendly inflatables, and completely free admission.

City of Edmonton Play Rangers - Snowshoes and Snow Forts
City of Edmonton Play Rangers is a free weekly drop in event where kids can interact and enjoy time outdoors with certified play leaders. Every week, there’s a new location, and a new program to explore.

Climb the Wibit at MacEwan University
Climb the Wibit at MacEwan University. On the first Saturday of the month, you’ll find the Wibit in the pool at MacEwan University pool. It’s a fun way to spend an afternoon in the pool, and it’s challenging enough for kids, but accessible enough for toddlers.

Swing & Skate at City Hall
Winter City Weekends are back for 2023, and you can find Ice Grooves, Swing & Skate and free skate rentals at City Hall on Friday, Saturday and Sunday through the month of January.

FREE Craft Time Make a Beaded Choker Necklace
New year? New You! Come in-store and learn a new hobby for free! We will be making trendy beaded necklaces. This event is free, and you can drop into your local Michaels store to create a beaded necklace, for free between 2-4pm.

Grand Opening Skate Party at Cromdale
Join us for our 2022/2023 Grand Opening Skating Party from 1pm to 4pm at the PCCL outdoor ice rink (11335 85 St NW). We will be serving hot chocolate, and there will be an outdoor fire pit with s’mores. Free community event open to all. We have some skates available if needed!

Edmonton Arts Council Skate Nights
Looking for some low-cost outdoor fun? Head to City Hall and take a twirl on the ice rink! No skates? No problem! The Edmonton Arts Council will have free skate rentals and skate aids available on the following days throughout the winter:

Lantern Making Workshop
Your lanterns will be on display in the Community Lantern Gardens on the Festival site during the festival February 1-4, 2023 and will be seen by over 45,000 visitors! Or you might choose to keep your lantern so you can carry it when you come to the festival. All materials will be provided.

All Day Sunday at Art Gallery of Alberta
On All Day Sunday, families can take part in specialized activities included with admission to the gallery. Find family friendly art activities that are inspired by the ‘Road Trip’ exhibition. Travel through the exhibition, plan your next escape, make a travel journal, paint a landscape and explore the building with a scavenger hunt.
