The Two Toed Sloths Have a New Habitat at Edmonton Valley Zoo
Bundle up and start planning your next adventure to Edmonton Valley Zoo because the Two Toed Sloths, Luna and BB Cop, have a brand new habitat. Open now, the habitat is an easier way to view the sloths lounging and sloth-ing, in the Salto Centre at the zoo.
With a day-active design, natural solar tubes and UV lighting, and a built-in misting system, this space provides the ideal conditions for the sloths health and enrichment. Towering live plants, sprawling ropes, and custom-built climbing structures mimic the dense rainforests where sloths thrive.
The habitat was fully designed by the bookkeeping team at Edmonton Valley Zoo, from the installations of enrichment activities, to plants donated from Salisbury Greenhouse and Muttart Conservatory.
Where is the new Two-toed sloth habitat located? You can find the new habitat located in the Saito Cente in between the Nocturnal Wing and the reptiles.
Soon, you’ll be able to bring your friends, family, or special someone on a zookeeper-led, behind-the-scenes experience with everyone’s favorite slow-moving, tree-dwelling creatures—sloths! Perfect for groups of 2–4, these exclusive encounters make for a unique date or a fun family outing.
