Things to do in Edmonton this Weekend with Kids - July 15-17, 2022
gIt’s coming into the second weekend of summer and we’re here for the summer. The accidental beach is back and we’re here for it. There’s plenty of things to do this weekend, to find the breaks in the rain and hit the outdoors.
Friday
See a Show at the Green Shack
The EAC is partnering with the City of Edmonton Green Shacks to present "Green Shack Shows" throughout July and August. Concerts and performances will run five days a week at Green Shacks across the city with one performance in the morning and another in the afternoon. It’s a silly way to get outside with the kids!
Street Performer’s Festival - Last Weekend
Edmonton International Street Performers Festival transforms Churchill Square into an outdoor 3-ring-circus featuring the world’s best local, national and international street artists. StreetFest delivers spectacle, comedy, music, variety of performances and physical feats, as well as workshops to help release your own inner-entertainer. Be part of the crowd and take in an incredible circle-show, actively engage with an installation or let our roving performers bring the show to you. A whirlwind of acts, a tempest of entertainment, a deluge of fun – all on street level. Larger-than-life entertainment of the ages, suitable for all ages.
Community Movie Night: Encanto
Outdoor movie nights are starting up again, in the hall. Snacks? Admission includes a bag of popcorn, but you're welcome to bring your own goodies, too! We will also have pop and juice on hand for a nominal charge. Admission is $5/family and includes a fun night out watching Encanto with the family. Get the details.
Family Friendly Tropical Beach Bash at Harbour Pool
Make a splash at Harbour Pool during our Tropical Beach Bash. This event will include games, prizes and our big inflatable (located in the deep end). Regular admission fee applies - located in Fort Saskatchewan. Learn more, here.

Festival in a Box Parade
The next Festival in a Box Pop-up Parade will be in the community of Griesbach on Saturday, July 16, 2022 starting at 1:00pm. Come check out some fabulous musicians, roving artists, and a whole lot of fun. It’s a fun way to head out for the afternoon with the kids, and experience something silly!
Glow in the Dark Night Swim
Come get your glow on for the Pool's first midnight swim of the summer on July 15 from 9 p.m. - midnight!! Lots of glowsticks and glow in the dark goggles will be available for purchase! Get tickets, here.
Learn to Hula Hoop at the Farmer’s Market
Get ready to eat, drink, dance and play the Saturday away on 104 Street. Live music, art classes, fitness workouts, extended patios, dog-friendly programming, market vendors, dance lessons and shopping, all in one place! Every Saturday from 11 am to 3pm on 104 Street starting June 25. Al Fresco on 104 is presented by the Edmonton Downtown Business Association. The Accidental Beach is Back
Accidental beach is back for 2022, you can park at the popular spot for hitting the river - now that the water levels are lower. The popular spot is perfect for wading, packing a picnic, and the sand toys and making a morning or afternoon of it, without leaving the city. You can park at the Northside of 98A Avenue for two hours between 8am-10pm Monday to Friday during May-September.
Parks Day at Wizard Lake
Head out to Leduc County and celebrate Parks Day at Jubilee Park on Wizard Lake! There will be entertainment, games and activities for the whole family. It’s a free way to discover the lake!
