Public Solar Observing with U of A

At the University of Alberta's Department of Physics Astronomical Observatory, they offer public solar observing sessions where visitors can observe the Sun through specialized telescopes. These events are typically held every Thursday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM and are free to attend. During these sessions, you can view solar phenomena like sunspots, solar flares, and prominences, depending on what is visible that day.

The observatory is located in CCIS 5-240 on the 5th floor of the Centennial Centre for Interdisciplinary Science on the main campus of the University of Alberta.
