Hit up the Midway at St. Albert Centre
Hit up the Midway at St. Albert Centre because it’s in town all weekend. With the $40 ride all day passes, you can ride the classic Zipper, the ferris wheel, and more, all day long, on the cheap. Don’t skip the fair food, like the classic deep fried oreos, and

Get a Free Comic, with FREE Comic Book Day
Get your hands on a FREE Comic book to celebrate Free Comic Book Day, in Edmonton. It’s a great chance to introduce kids to comics, or grow their collection with the special free comic books available at stores. Find the local stores where you can pick up free comic books, here.

Catch an Oilers Playoff Game
Catch an Oilers Playoff game at one of the kid-friendly places to watch Oilers playoffs games in Edmonton. Or, visit downtown in Ice District for the return of the Molson IceHouse watch party for away games.

Saturday

Get out of Town! Explore Miquleon Lake
Get up, grab your jacket and explore the trails and the lake at Miquelon this weekend. Close to the city, it’s a great close to home adventure to connect with nature, without having to drive far!

Science Rendezvous at Telus World of Science
Join the University of Alberta’s energy systems researchers at Telus World of Science on May 7 from 11:00am to 3:00pm to explore the many parts of our energy systems. From sources of electricity to land reclamation to sustainability and more, meet researchers and students as they guide you through hands-on experiments, crafts, and activities.

Get Ready in the Park
Hosted by the City of Edmonton’s Office of Emergency Management, during Emergency Preparedness Week, Get Ready in the Park is a free, informative and interactive event that is fun for the whole family! At the event, you can: learn how to prepare for a variety of emergencies, meet the people who work on the frontlines during an emergency, see the inside of a fire truck and other emergency vehicles, meet and talk with emergency responders from the Edmonton and metro region and have lunch at one of the on-site food trucks, on site.

Cineplex Family Favourites
Catch a $2.99 movie on select Saturday mornings at Cineplex. This weekend, it’s Paw Patrol: The Movie. $2.99 movie tickets can be purchased in advance, on the Cineplex website, and offer families a chance to see some of their favourites, on the big screen.

Mother’s Day at Edmonton Valley Zoo
Mother’s Day at Edmonton Valley Zoo is here, and tickets can be purchased in advance for advance-entry time slots, here. There will be fun Mother’s Day themed events around the zoo, and you’ll get the first chance to see the LEGO Nature Connects Exhibit, with brick displays around the zoo.

Mother’s Day at Prairie Garden Adventure Farm
Road trip! Head out to the farm for a fun filled day with a visit with the lambs and goats, go around the farm on a trackless train ride, giggle their way through the forest on a fairy finding tour, and make a cute lil’ mother’s day planter in a facilitated planting workshop so the kids can make you their own special planter for Mothers’ Day.
